Easter Seals is thrilled to introduce you to Ms. Marie Kopp, who turned 106 years old Friday, August 7th at the Edward N. Della L. Thome Adult and Senior Care Center on The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus in Baltimore, Maryland. The event was filled with love and laugther, and even included a special performance from Cindy Roberts, a local R&B and Soul singer.

Ms. Kopp, a Baltimorean, has been attending the Adult and Senior Care Center in Baltimore for 14 years. Ms. Kopp spent her life giving back to the community by volunteering in any way she could. In 1999, 89-year-old Ms. Kopp was recognized for her service at the 16th Annual Maryland J.C. Penny Golden Rule Volunteer Awards. “It's our turn to celebrate Ms. Kopp and her service to her community”, said Center Director Corey Odol.  “At Easter Seals we have the opportunity to be a part of history every day, serving teachers, veterans, community leaders and community volunteers like Ms. Kopp.  Having Ms. Kopp here, with 106 years of history is not something most of us are lucky to experience. Today we celebrate her life, history and journey.”

“She loves attending Easter Seals,” said Dee Spedden, Ms. Kopp's caregiver. “Ms. Kopp attends Easter Seals three days a week and the days she doesn't, she will ask, "When is the cab coming", or "Are they coming today?" According to Ms. Spedden, "it’s a part of her daily routine, it’s something she looks forward to.” Here's to many more happy and healthy years for Ms. Kopp!

We would love to hear from you! If you would like to submit a milestone to Easter Seals, please email us a photo and short description to info@eseal.org.
