Easterseals MORC Helps Young Boy and His Family Find Happiness

Liam’s mother, Courtney, says her son has the best, most infectious smile that makes people he encounters happy. He is a young boy who loves cars, especially Ford Raptors and other pick-up trucks.

“Liam is a silly boy and a quick learner,” Courtney said. “Some of his favorite things do to are wash cars, go swimming, and play with his sisters.”

When Liam was six months old, he was diagnosed with a rare seizure disorder called infantile spasms, which would later cause his development to be negatively impacted. At about 2 ½ years old, Liam’s family began to notice some developmental delays, prompting Courtney and her husband to seek guidance from the autism director at Easterseals MORC.

“When we first began our journey with autism services, Liam was not receiving consistent therapy and services at another provider,” Courtney said. “When we decided to leave Liam’s previous therapy center, we made the switch to Easterseals MORC, and we’ve been happy ever since!”

Easterseals MORC’s autism services provide consistent play-based therapy tailored to each child and supports the entire family, not just the child receiving services.

“Working with Easterseals MORC has been like a breath of fresh air,” Courtney said. “I am 100% happy and Liam is 100% happy. Knowing he’s getting the services he deserves, brings happiness and peace to our family.”

Courtney expressed gratitude for the team members who work with her son at every session. She explained that the team at the Wixom location goes above and beyond, dependable, and are consistent with his goals and program to help him progress in life.

“Liam’s progress has shown such measurable growth, and I owe that to James and the team at the Wixom location,” Courtney said. “James is always checking in to share progress and explain what Liam is working on. He always checks to see how things are going at home and how he can support our entire family.”

Liam’s family is grateful for the services and support they have received in the past two years since beginning their journey with Easterseals MORC.

“Having an organization dear to our hearts close to home has made all the difference,” Courtney said. “Easterseals MORC has allowed Liam to receive the care and support he needs to live a successful life.”
