Easterseals provides training, support, innovative services and unending encouragement to the people we serve right here in Michigan.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Office Support 

Looking for volunteers 2-3 times a week during Monday-Friday business hours offering administrative assistance in various locations including Flint, Waterford, Center Line, and Southfield. Email Linda Kozianowski at lkozianowski@essmichigan.org for more details!

In-Office Volunteer Days!

Join us every third Wednesday of the month for our Auburn Hills In-Office Volunteer Opportunity! Taking place anytime from 10am-6pm, assisting with Marketing & Development needs (i.e. stuffing envelopes, assembling auction item baskets, general clerical work, etc.) To register a group or individually, please email Linda Kozianowski at lkozianowski@essmichigan.org.

Epic Bike Ride  

In search of 2 volunteers to assist with our Epic Bike Ride, which will follow 1 individual traveling on bike for 30 days from Freedom Park, NYC to Ada, MI to raise money for Easterseals Michigan! We are looking for 1 trip navigator to work with the Director of our Grand Rapids location, 4 hours/week, to assist with creating an itinerary for this venture. This will primarily consist of coordinating places for resting. We are also looking for 1 volunteer to handle all things social media related, volunteering 2-4 hours/week. Trauma Sensory Kits

Help our trauma assessment programs by assisting in making sensory packages with items that help children self soothe. If you would like to make and/or donate kits, click here for more information. 

Spread Some Cheer this Year!

Throughout the year, Easterseals collects gift bags/boxes with donations for the people we serve. Useful items include socks, hats, gloves, blankets, shampoo, canned food, etc. If you would like to donate please email Linda Kozianowski at lkozianowski@essmichigan.org or call 248.475.3624. Dreams Clubhouse 

Seeking Advisory Committee Members from local Professional and Business Organizations. Dreams Unlimited Clubhouse (DUC), an Easterseals program, is a psychosocial rehabilitation program that helps individuals with mental illness develop the skills necessary to be successful in their everyday lives and within their community. Advisory Committee participants support the DUC membership in the following ways:

  • Advocacy and Marketing: Assist in educating potential employers, legislators, funding sources, health care providers, educators, family members, and the general public by dispelling myths and stereotypes surrounding mental illness 
  • Employment Development: Increase the number of employers within the community-at-large who are willing to hire Clubhouse members into part-time transitional, supported, or independently paid employment
  • Fundraising: Increase marketing efforts to raise awareness of the ongoing critical need to support Clubhouse members 
  • Member Health and Wellness: Identify additional community resources and/or opportunities for members to promote their overall health and wellness
