Kiddie Corner is a four-star Day Care Center!
Kiddie Korner participated in EBF's Quality First program for daycare providers and my staff and I learned more about child development, how to help children get prepared for Kindergarten and better ways to support children under three with their development.
We know now that interaction is the key to encourage children to use their imagination (creativity), help them think and connect things on their own (critical thinking skills), and find different ways to get to the same goal (innovative). We also learned tools to help younger children communicate more effectively.
Now we understand that the best way to do teach is interactively – while they play. The teachers talk to their students about games they play. Instead of using premade notecards, we ask students to describe what they're doing, what colors are being used, how many items they are using to build something, etc.
After four years of being with the program, we met the requirements to be a FOUR STAR CENTER with Quality First! Quality First has helped us grow as a Center, and as professionals.

Easterseals Blake Children & Family Quality First is a quality improvement program for child care providers. The guidelines teaches coaching consultation, quality improvement planning, and financial incentives.
