Easterseals Hosts Caregiver Conference

New Castle, DE – Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore, with generous support from the Delaware Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD), is hosting its’ 14th Annual Easterseals Caregiver Conference on August 28. The theme of this year’s conference is “You’re a Caregiver -Give Yourself a Hand”. The topics are pertinent for caregivers caring for loved ones of all ages; however, the focus is on those caring for adults and seniors. This is a FREE event and will be held at the Star Campus in Newark and Harrington Fire Hall. Caregivers will also have an option to log in virtually.

Easterseals is grateful to have the support of Highmark Delaware again this year as sponsor of the keynote speaker, Deidre Edwards, RN. Edwards is an author, seminar speaker, and founder of Toolkits for Health.

The conference includes a panel featuring caregivers sharing how they find things each day to give themselves a hand as they care for their loved ones and a second panel of local experts sharing information about topics related to caregiving. The Caregiver Conference is one example of the ongoing partnership between Easterseals and DSAAPD to address the growing needs of Delaware caregivers. In addition, the Easterseals Community Outreach Program offers resources and support to caregivers through its many programs including: The Caregiver Resource Center, Respite Voucher program, FYI Assistive Technology Financing program and the assistive technology demonstration center.
