Are you feeling overwhelmed? We are here to listen.

Easterseals Veterans Rally Point is proud to work with the VA to prevent suicide in our community. As a Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SPGP) recipient, we use evidence-informed approaches to suicide prevention to meet the needs of veterans and their families. Many services are available at no cost to participants through the SSG Fox grant, and you do not have to be enrolled in the VA to get help.

SSG Fox SPGP honors Veteran Parker Gordon Fox, who joined the Army in 2014 and was a sniper instructor at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia. Known for a life of generosity and kindness to others in need, Fox died by suicide on July 21, 2020, at the age of 25.

Outreach & Training

Easterseals Veterans Rally Point works with partners to conduct education and outreach initiatives to raise awareness of the suicide prevention support services available at VRP and to find and support eligible individuals and their caregivers who may be disconnected and struggling.

For eligible veterans: As veterans themselves, our outreach team can provide an empathetic, lifesaving pathway to care that offers a way forward. This can include recognizing warning signs, screening for suicide risk, connecting veterans to temporary income support, connecting veterans to suicide prevention protective factors (e.g. safe storage solutions for lethal means), and connecting veterans to other support services.

For caregivers, businesses, veteran employee resource groups, and others: Our outreach team can offer practical and proven suicide prevention training so that caretakers, friends, and peers can recognize the warning signs of a crisis and know how to help those who are struggling. This can include workshops on gatekeeper trainings (e.g. Q.P.R.), suicide prevention referral pathways, lethal means safety, and more.

Connect with our outreach team by email here.
