Ryan Odens and his brother Nick from Little Rock, Iowa, farm 1,100 acres of corn and soybeans and 50 acres of hay. His family says all Ryan has ever wanted to do is farm and carry on the family legacy.
After a pickup truck accident, Ryan’s family wasn’t sure what the future held. Ryan started to show great improvement physically and had a great support system through his family, friends and Easter Seals Iowa.
During harvest season the year of Ryan’s accident, the entire town turned out with wagons, tractors and combines to support Ryan and his family with their harvest.
Easter Seals Iowa supported Ryan in making connections for resources including lifts for tractors, a Gator to get around the farm, and cement in the machine shed so Ryan could roll his toolbox up to the tractor.
Ryan says, “How could I not be a farmer? It’s the best thing I could ever imagine. I can never thank Easter Seals Iowa enough; I can never thank my friends and family enough. They just made my dreams come true."
