Career Planning, Discovery, and Exploration
This program provides an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to explore different types of jobs and discover their skills, abilities, and areas of interest. Our staff members customize this process to meet the needs of each person.
Career Discovery: We collaborate with the individual to discover the best career options for them by reviewing their past experiences and current skill set. During this process, our staff gathers information, including:
- What an individual’s typical day looks like
- Past work history
- Likes and dislikes
- Reasons for wanting to work
- Conditions/preferences for employment
- Current job skills
Career Exploration: Our staff supports employed individuals as they explore and consider their career options. Program participants will identify the following:
- Career types of interest
- Transportation options available
- Any additional needed support
