Summary:

Easterseals of Northeast Ohio is looking for an energetic and customer service-minded Intake and Program Support Specialist. This position is part-time and would work 20-29 hours per week. The right candidate for this position will be required but not limited to:

Basic Responsibilities:

This position will provide administrative assistance to the outpatient medical rehabilitation programs and the Autism Diagnostic Clinic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•    Answer incoming calls to the department.
•    Complete initial telephone intakes and schedule clients for services.
•    Act as a resource to all department personnel on daily activities.
•    Communicate with clients and their families to provide detailed instructions and directions regarding their upcoming appointments.
•    Track referrals and complete prior authorizations.
•    Verify insurance and ensure clients have the appropriate coverage to receive services.
•    Collect co-pays and co-insurance.
•    Send reminder calls and texts.
•    Collect signatures from clients for various forms.
•    Monitor client adherence to the attendance policy and send warnings and discharges as needed.
•    Assist with client satisfaction surveys.
•    Run various reports to monitor therapists' adherence to documentation procedures.
•    Gather and report various monthly stats.
•    Scan documents into the EHR as needed.
•    Communicate with Medsys and other billing partners to resolve issues.
•    Complete records requests.
•    Complete discharge follow-up calls.
•    Assist with performance improvement data collection and various other CARF-related tasks.
•    Attend training as required.
•    Maintain current working knowledge of Easterseals policies, CARF standards, and OMHAS standards.
•    Perform other assigned and related duties specific and customary to the department in which they are assigned.

Qualifications:

•    A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
•    Experience working with electronic health record or other computerized scheduling system.
•    Two years of related experience in an area that provides a broad knowledge of medical terminology, including client registration, client billing, insurance processing, or appointment scheduling.
•    Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
•    Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background checks (Ohio Bureau of
Criminal Identification and Investigation).

EQUIPMENT USED/MACHINERY REQUIRED TO OPERATE:
•    General office equipment, including computers and applicable software programs.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•    Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
