School-Based Mental Health

In partnership with Alta Behavioral Healthcare, Easterseals provides mental health services for children with multiple disabilities in the classroom setting.

This innovative program is designed to teach children with emotional, physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities the skills they need to live healthy and independent lives.

Our case managers work full-time in the classroom alongside teachers and other school staff. This gives students access to behavior support in their natural setting which boosts their ability to acquire the following skills through real time reinforcement:

  • Interpersonal skills to create functional relationships with their peers, adults, and authority figures
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Behavior management
  • Managing mental health and behavior symptoms to enhance school opportunities
  • Positive coping mechanisms

If you are a school administrator and are interested in learning how to bring school-based mental health services to your school, please call 330.743.1168.
