Easterseals Oregon has been named "Provider of the Year" by Honoring Heroes - an organization dedicated to assisting United States Veterans and active duty personnel and their families. Read on to learn about Easterseals Oregon, Honoring Heroes, and the Provider of the Year award.
The following is a brief Q&A between our staff and Mark Bucholz (Chairman of Honoring Heroes)
Mission statement; we are a nonprofit (501c3) dedicated to assisting United States Veterans and active duty personnel and their families.
We assist Veterans and their families when they might require assistance, such as paying utility bills, car repairs or other necessities. Often times, at no fault of their own, life just gets in the way. We provide them a “hand up, not a hand out.” We also partner with several other Veteran/Military nonprofits such at Easter Seals, VETcare, Ft. Kennedy, The Returning Veterans Project, The Tanner Project, Homes for our Troops and Joys of Living Assistance Dogs. These are all highly rated organization and we support them and their missions in any way we can.
We work closely with the staff of Easter Seals and VETcare continuously. Veterans leaving homeless shelters, drug and alcohol treatment centers and transitional centers have worked hard and are able to move into their own homes and apartments. Most times these Veterans, many times with spouses or families have no furnishings. Honoring Heroes will provide them with the basics, beds, dressers, sofa, chairs, coffee and end tables and more.
Organizations and individuals that go above and beyond to assist our Veterans are considered. They have consistently demonstrated that they care about those that have sacrificed for us.

We’ve seen firsthand their compassion and dedication to find a better life for our Veterans. Their entire staff is pleasurable to work with, whether it’s moving furniture together or planning for future Vets to get into their own housing.
