Gregory Vance came to the Easterseals Oregon Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program after several months of homelessness. We were introduced to Mr. Vance through the Case Managers at the Do Good Shelter in Portland, Oregon where we were able to get him enrolled. Throughout our time together, Gregory has been very cooperative and eager to put in the work towards any opportunity that would come his way to overcome homelessness in efforts to better his future.
In just a little less than a month, we were able to find Mr. Vance a new home in The Louisa Flowers apartments. On July 7th, 2020, humbled and grateful, Greg Vance signed his lease, got the keys and walked into his new home. With the help of the Homes for Heroes foundation, we were able to provide the fundamentals for Greg Vance’s new home with a “Welcome Home” kit. With this, Greg is now set up with brand new kitchen supplies such as dishes, cups, pots, pans and a coffee maker. We were also able to provide him with some other necessities such as towels, laundry detergent, a vacuum and more.
Gregory has been overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for everything we have been able to support him with throughout this who process. Mr. Vance has repeatedly expressed his appreciation of our support in his quest towards changing his life, and he would like to thank not only the Easterseals SSVF program but the Homes for Heroes Foundation and their kindness and generosity.
Thank you for all of your hard work, cooperation, and kind words, Gregory! We’re so happy to see you succeed.
