Mendy Baxter- Occupational Therapist
Mendy Baxter joined Easter Seals SC in 2016 as an Occupational Therapist. She graduated in 2000 with a Master of Science in OT from Brenau University. She has over 9 years of pediatric experience in private clinics, classroom/day-care settings, and home settings working with children and adolescents 0 – 18 yrs. of age. She took time off to stay home with her children for several years and now returns to the working field she is so passionate about. Mendy has a particular interest and more extensive experience in the area of sensory processing. She has always had a heart for children and feels grateful and blessed to be able to help children develop and grow into their full potential, particularly in their natural setting! Mendy loves spending time with her husband and two girls. She has a heart and advocates for adoption/foster care/vulnerable children through her church’s ministry, including local and international outreach. She has had the opportunity to use her clinical skills to work directly with children in orphanages in South America. She also enjoys cooking, running, and soaking in the outdoors!
Sally Gervasi
Sally Gervasi has been an Occupational therapist for 14 years. She graduated from StonyBrook University in New York with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and Bachelor in Health Science. She worked briefly in a public school district for children with special needs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter going on new adventures year to year. She is always in pursuit of learning new things and using all her OT skills to have the best outcome for her clientele.
Maria Blase- Speech-Language Pathologist
Maria Blase joined Easterseals SC in 2018 as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She graduated in 1991 with a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining Easterseals SC, Maria worked in a school setting, at the Cerebral Palsy Services Center (at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital), in private practice, and most recently for Illinois Early Intervention in the Chicago, IL area. She is passionate about delivering speech services to the birth to 3-year-old population and working with their families. When not working, Maria loves spending time with her husband and young adult children. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and going for walks.
