Karen began her journey with Easterseals South Carolina in 2007 and brings over 30 years of expertise in Early Intervention. Throughout her tenure, she has held various roles within the organization. Karen earned her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and her graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. A devoted advocate for early intervention, she believes that timely support leads to better outcomes for both caregivers and children. Her graduate research and thesis, which focused on parental needs in the NICU, marked a pivotal moment in her career. This experience deepened her commitment to supporting and empowering families through family-driven services.Karen is married, has two young adult children, and two grand-dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and tackling home improvement projects.
Stacy Scruggs has been with Easterseals South Carolina since 2004 and has over 20 years experience in working with adults and children with special needs. Stacy earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston in 1994. Shortly after graduation, she obtained a position working for the local board of Disabilities and Special Needs providing direct services in residential and day program settings and service coordination. It was during her time here that Stacy realized she had a passion for working with individuals and families with special needs. During her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys traveling, reading and watching her children in their various sporting events.
