Biography
Rick Gutierrez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology as well as a Master’s in psychology with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis. He has over 20 years of applied experience working in the clinical, community, and school settings. He has provided numerous workshops on Applied Behavior Analysis across Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. Further, he has provided international consultation to clinics serving individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability around the globe. He has given numerous talks on staff retention based on his research in this area. Currently, Dr. Gutierrez is the Vice President of Clinical Strategy & Operations for Easterseals Southern California (ESSC). He is responsible for the oversight of intake, consultation for adult services, behavior provider network, and new development for Autism Services. Dr. Gutierrez has extensive experience in staff training, employee retention, employee engagement, as well as the treatment of individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Research Interests
Dr. Gutierrez’s main area of research has been in the area staff retention and turnover. Dr. Gutierrez has published research in The Analysis of Verbal Behavior on joint control. Additional research interests include social skills, verbal behavior, problem behavior, multidisciplinary teams, and organizational behavior management.
