Veterans & Military Families

Easterseals provides mental health, job training, and housing assistance to veterans, military spouses, and caregivers.

Overview

Serving Veterans and Military Families to Support Their Success

Easterseals partners with veterans to ensure their successful transition to civilian life. For veterans, military spouses, and caregivers, this sometimes includes mental health resources, job training, and housing assistance, helping them build independence and stability. This is our dedication in action since World War II.

We understand that the transition from military service to civilian life can be challenging, and there are Easterseals locations across the country that can address all phases of deployment: pre-deployment, deployment, and reunion reintegration.

Supporting Families & Caregivers

Families and caregivers are critical to our programs, and we support their physical, mental, and emotional health. We offer respite services, caregiver training, and connections to local resources. Learn more.

Contributing to Mental Health & Well-Being

We offer mental health services like counseling, group therapy, and behavior health programs that treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress that impact physical health.

  • Clinicians can help with depression, post-traumatic stress (PTS), mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), suicide, and substance use. They offer techniques to manage trauma, anxiety, and thoughts, and teach coping skills. They also address insomnia, relationship issues, social isolation, financial problems, career outlook, reintegration, and spiritual concerns.
  • Groups provide education and support for those ready to quit substances. They cover stages of change, reintegration challenges, social isolation, coping skills, family reunification, and rebuilding relationships.
