Our Impact

70% of all families within the Easterseals network use more than one service. This means several important things.

Empowering People for More Than 100 Years  

Easterseals has been helping families for more than a century. At least 70% of families in our network use more than one service. This shows several important things: 

  • Whole person care: Whole person care means feeling good physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Families get different kinds of help from Easterseals based on multiple needs, which can lead to better well-being. 
  • Better use of resources: Using many services helps families use their resources well. This means they get the help they need without wasting time looking for different services. 
  • Improved outcomes: Getting many services can help families be healthier and happier. For example, getting help with social skills and mental health can help children do better in school and feel better. 
  • Stronger community ties: When Easterseals can connect families to different services, we also connect with community groups for things like rides, housing, and food. More of us working together means we can help more families in communities across the country. 
  • Growing and improving programs: Knowing that families use many services helps us make better programs. This makes it easier for families to get the help they need.

A Network of Support  

Easterseals started as one site in Ohio. More than 100 years later, Easterseals has expanded to 48 states in the United States, reaching thousands of communities.  

We help 1.5 million people every year because of caring donors, partners, and others who believe in helping people thrive. Even though things have changed a lot in the last century, people with disabilities still experience many obstacles to living a healthy life. We also recognized that more could be done for older adults, veterans, and families. Easterseals continues to support people with unwavering compassion and care.

Meet Jaxon & His Family

When Jaxon was diagnosed with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy, his parents, Kim and Joa, turned to Easterseals for care and answers they knew they could trust. Now a teenager, Jaxon meets challenges with determination and joy. He says, "I can be just like everyone else, even though I'm in a wheelchair. Easterseals has definitely helped me throughout my life to do different things that I couldn't do, but now I can, because I'm strong enough."
