DC Solar Panels

SOLAR PANELS AT THE HARRY AND JEANETTE WEINBERG CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN WASHINGTON, DC ARE UP AND RUNNING

Solar

Last year, the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) provided and installed solar panels on Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA's Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Child Development building in Washington, DC at no cost. After months of waiting in anticipation, the panels are, finally, up and running. It took several months for PEPCO to approve the usage of the solar panels, but last week, PEPCO made a visit to the Center, installed the meter, and gave Easter Seals the green light.

The purpose of this incentive--donating the panels to the Child Development Center, was to aid Easter Seals in cutting energy costs, providing the opportunity to hire more teachers and contribute to the constant growth of the District’s economy.

Prospect Solar also made a visit to the Center to show the staff how to manage and maintain the solar panels, which can be operated from inside and outside of the building. Although the roof has been collecting some snow in the past few weeks, the panels are still generating energy. The Child Development Center will also have access to an online portal so that enery production and usage of the solar panels can be tracked and maintained online.
