Silver Spring, MD — Easterseals DC MD VA welcomes Bobby Lentz and Deborah Shuster to its Board of Directors.
“I am pleased to have Bobby and Deborah join the Board,” says Jon Horowitch, President and CEO of Easterseals DC MD VA. “They are strong believers in Easterseals’ life-changing disability and community services for children, adults, veterans, and caregivers.”
Bobby Lentz is Senior Vice President of strategy and business development for Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector. He drives growth in the Space Systems Sector through business development, long-range planning, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and government relations. His 14-year tenure at Northrop Grumman includes positions in the Defense Systems Sector, Global Cyber Business Unit, and Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems (NGIS) Defense Systems and Civil Systems. Mr. Lentz also served on the board of Girls on the Run of Central Maryland, and he currently serves on the board of Northern Virginia Technological Council (NVTC).
“I have a lot of skills in general management, business development, and strategy that I want to continue to apply outside the workplace. Nonprofits have always felt like a great way to give back,” says Mr. Lentz. “As for Easterseals, I am particularly interested in support for children with disabilities — my daughter is hearing impaired — and the connection to our military families.”
Mr. Lentz holds a Bachelor of Science in System Engineering from George Mason University.
Deborah Shuster is the Managing Director of BDO USA LLP’s Business Services and Outsourcing practice for the Greater Washington area. She manages professional outsourcing services in strategy and businesses planning; accounting and financial services; regulatory and compliance; and platform design and implementation to create business value and profitability. Her career includes positions as trustee and audit chair, president, CFO, partner, controller, and auditor. Ms. Shuster is a certified public account and has previously served as a board member for the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA, Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, and Altoona-Blair County Airport Authority.
“For as long as I can remember, volunteering and serving our community has been a core value of my family,” says Ms. Shuster. “I love the fact that Easterseals provides services and opportunities to a multitude of people in the community, supporting early child development, autism, adult daycare, respite for caregivers, and veterans and employment. It is this mission, to serve disabilities of all kinds and across all ages, that solidified my desire to become involved with Easterseals and focus on helping people thrive every day.”
Ms. Shuster holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
