Pony Pals Playgroup
Let your toddler, preschooler or elementary-aged child explore the world of horses and farm life through fun activities, songs, and lots of animal encounters. Outside time at the barn can build confidence and often encourages better nighttime sleep. Pony Pals Playgroup is the perfect opportunity for children to socialize and develop new skills, while you connect with other parents and caregivers. Designed and implemented by a licensed teacher and riding instructor, this session has lots of activities to engage all children, with accomodations and supports implemented as needed. Adults attend the playgroup with their child. Sign up via Eventbrite today for one of our highly sought after playgroup slots, available in two different sections to children ages 2-4 and 5-8.
Sample Agenda:
- Welcome: Red Light, Green Light in the arena; Recall and reinforcement with verbal/visual cues.
- Warm-up: Sheep Shenanigans - cuddle and walk the sheep; Collaboration and sharing with peers.
- Grooming: Learn to properly groom and care for your horse or pony; Fine motor skills and sequencing.
- Leading: Lead your horse or pony with a friend; Building transferrable skills.
- Riding: 1:1 time with your horse and instructor in the arena; Gross motor skills.
- Crafts & Activites: Make up lunch/dinner hay and grain and create a farm-themed craft; Sensory activity.
