Easterseals Midwest Offers New EarliPoint Technology to Help Diagnose Autism in Children Between 16-30 Months
Early diagnoses is crucial to improved outcomes
April 2025 (St. Louis and Kansas City, MO) –– Easterseals Midwest announced today that they are the first provider in St. Louis and Kansas City areas to begin offering autism diagnostic services in children ages 16-30 months using a new, FDA-approved tool called EarliPoint.
“EarliPoint is a major leap forward for families who are looking for answers,” said Easterseals Midwest Executive President Jeanne Marshall. “Being able to provide an early diagnosis allows them to make decisions that can have a major, positive impact on their child’s outcomes.”
The current autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis rate for children in the United States is 1 in 36, which is a 175% increase over the past decade. (source) This means that there are nearly 44,000 children in Missouri with ASD. Experts agree that early diagnosis paired with early interventions are crucial to providing children and families with the best opportunities for a full, productive life.
About EarliPoint Evaluation for ASD
EarliPoint is an FDA-approved tool that accelerates early and efficient autism diagnosis within the 16-30-month age range. EarliPoint's eye gaze technology collects 120 data points per second and evaluates how a child views the world.
The data collected is analyzed and compared with age-expected metrics, providing insights on social disability, verbal ability, and non-verbal learning. This analysis helps identify if the child is missing key moments of social learning, a critical indicator of autism.
To conduct the test, a child is presented a series of short videos on the EarliPoint device which resembles a small TV. The EarliPoint tool monitors and analyzes looking behavior that is not detectable to the human eye.
Testing is done by Easterseals Midwest’s highly-trained autism services team, which then forwards results to their partners at Coralis Health. A Coralis Health consulting physician reviews the findings and schedules a telehealth appointment within 24 hours of the EarliPoint assessment. During this session, they confirm the diagnosis using additional standardized tools, discuss the results with the family, answer any questions, and provide a comprehensive report with personalized recommendation.
