As the leading expert in autism services, Easterseals works tirelessly to provide the latest, comprehensive programs to those we support. That includes the latest diagnostic tools, including EarliPoint, a new, FDA-approved tool to detect autism in children ages 16-30 months.
Our team of highly trained autism specialists will guide you through every step of the process, ensuring a compassionate and seamless experience. From your first call to receiving your child’s diagnostic report, we are here to support you.
A Breakthrough in Early Autism Diagnosis
To enhance our ability to provide accurate and efficient assessments, we use EarliPoint, an FDA-approved tool that helps identify key social learning differences in young children. The assessment involves your child watching a series of short, engaging videos while the device tracks their eye movements. By analyzing how a child engages with social interactions on screen, EarliPoint helps detect early indicators of autism.
After the assessment, a consulting Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician will review the results with you and discuss next steps, ensuring you have the resources and support your child needs.
What to Expect
- Step 1: Intake and Scheduling – An Easterseals Admissions Specialist will walk you through the intake process, answer any questions, and schedule your child’s diagnostic evaluation at one of our participating locations in Kansas City or St. Louis.
- Step 2: Assessment Appointment – During the assessment, your child will sit comfortably while watching short video clips on the EarliPoint device. The eye-gazing technology collects 120 data points per second to understand how the child views the world. The tool analyzes social disability, verbal ability, and non-verbal learning.
- Step 3: Results and Consultation – The next day, a developmental behavioral pediatrician from Coralis Health will review the findings with you in a telehealth appointment, provide a formal diagnosis if applicable, and offer recommendations for next steps. A full report will be available within 72 hours.
