Easter Seals Adult Day Services supports individuals to build work, social and life skills.  To that end staff with the days services in Glendale partnered with A New Smile Dental Group for a free series dental trainings for participants and staff.

A recent training with 50 adult day service participants and 20 staff members focused on proper brushing techniques, flossing and how to assist participants that have complex needs.  Both staff and participants were part of the interactive discussion. At the end everyone received a toothbrush to get them started on proper dental hygiene practices.

Program Coordinator Rachel Saucedo said, “It is a great opportunity for our participants to get dental advice on preventative care, since they only receive dental care when they are in pain.”

“Unfortunately this population of individuals is the least likely to receive the benefits of adequate dental hygiene once every 6 months,” Dr. Ana Arreguin, said. “I enjoyed meeting with the Easter Seals participants and staff, and having the opportunity to spread the importance of maintaining good dental hygiene.”
