Easterseals Head Start Centers serves 496 young children in Miami
Head Start is a national program that provides comprehensive early care services for low-income, preschool children ages three to five and social services for their families. Easterseals South Florida provides services to 496 children in six Head Start centers (480 Head Start slots 3 to 5 years old and 16 Early Head Start slots 0 to 3 years old). The staff at Easterseals continues to provide comprehensive early childhood care, case management, and education services for pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children.
The Head Start program also includes services to children with disabilities, offers voluntary prekindergarten, participates in the childcare food program, and provides afterschool or extended hours of services until 6:00 PM.
Sites in Miami and Miami Gardens include: Caleb Center, Civic Center, Culmer, Liberty Square, North County, and Ophelia E. Brown-Lawson
