Comcast goes to Camp!

A group of Comcast employees uplift Camp Stand By Me through volunteer service

Comcast Volunteers Group

This week, we were ecstatic to host a group of volunteers from our partner Comcast NBCUniversal. The group helped spruce up the grounds at Camp Stand By Me, which is working on its annual effort to refresh, restock and renew the property after a successful summer of hosting children and adult campers.

The group took on various tasks ranging from pressure washing to pruning. Their willingness to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty significantly impacted the property and the families we serve.

When they arrived Camp was fresh off a summer of life and experiences and a year of extreme weather that had left the grounds run down and in need of attention. The volunteers immediately took action by pressure washing tables and ramps and then painting and staining them to preserve them for future use. They also improved accessibility and saftey for campers by removing trip hazards and plant growth from walkways and trails.

Comcast Pressure Washer"It amazed me that our partners worked so hard, accomplished so much, and then thanked me for the opportunity. They all exemplified the Comcast community spirit!" said Cathy Bisaillon, the President and CEO of Easterseals Washington.

Please join us in thanking Comcast for all their hard work and dedication to improving their local communities. Volunteer work is essential for our success as a nonprofit and this occasion exemplified how they make a difference.
