Services for Adults

Easterseals Washington is committed to providing services to individuals of any age and any disability. Our adult services help people gain the independence and dignity that they deserve.

Adult Health and Social Programs
Easterseals Washington offers Adult Health and Social Programs, providing enrichment, health services, caregiver support and advocacy. These programs provide enrichment for people who benefit from supervision but who require minimal assistance with most activities of daily living; health services for people who require medical monitoring or assistance with many activities of daily living; family caregiver support, including free training, counseling and other support services for family caregivers; and advocacy at the local, state and national level on behalf of people with disabilities and their caregivers.

Camping & Recreation
Easterseals Washington has camping & respite programs to provide a safe and fun environment for adults to experience all aspects of camp without barriers.

Community Access
Easterseals Washington's Workforce Development program provides Community Access. Individuals with disabilities over 62 years of age may be retired but still need that one-to-one support to access their community for everyday activities.

Employment Services & Preparation
Easterseals Washington's Workforce Development Program sees a decent job for a person with a disability as the cornerstone of self reliance and independence.  We give support to people with disabilities, such as job coaching and transportation, so that their skills, not their disabilities, are the emphasis of their employability.

School to Work Transition Services
Easterseals Washington's Workforce Development Program provides employment planning, job placement services, intensive training services, CRP-DVR-DDA-SCHOOL connection and additional resources to students with disabilities looking to transition from school into the workforce.

Transit Services
Through a partnership with Pierce Transit, Easterseals Washington's Workforce Development Program provides accurate, timely and comprehensive assessments for their riders with disabilities. We provide award-winning FACTS assessments on each rider's ability to safely navigate busy streets, read online bus schedules, properly communicate with passengers, and other key tasks that commuters deal with each day.  This provides the transit authority objective data to determine the riders eligibility for either routed or door-to-door service.

WorkStrides
Easterseals Washington's Workforce Development Program provides training from a Certified WorkStrides Trainer. WorkStrides is a career development workshop, through the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) was created in the late 1990’s to assist DVR customers with disabilities as they navigate the DVR process. This highly interactive workshop helps DVR customers evaluate their strengths, values, personal qualities, barriers, self-esteem, and resiliency.
