What is a Representative Payee?
- Millions of people require assistance in managing their Social Security (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veteran’s Administration, or DSHS benefits.
- An approved organization like Easterseals Washington provides Representative Payee services to assist the beneficiary when no family or friends are available to help.
- The beneficiary’s benefits are to be used only on behalf of the beneficiary. These funds are to be used in the best interests of the beneficiary.
- A fee, set by the SSA, will be deducted from the client’s account on a monthly basis in order to carry out the services.
